Wave Data for East Coast
Most people are familiar with the Bureau of Meteorology’s waverider buoy on the west coast.
The CSIRO have a buoy that records wave height off the east coast near Maria Island. These data
are currently experimental and you need to cross check with the forecast.
The observation platform is located approximately five nautical miles east of Cape Boulanger.

As you may be aware the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) is developing a smaller number of national awards covering all workers in all industries to commence on 1 January 2010. The process aims to rationalise the current State and Federal Award arrangements whilst providing for some flexibility with enterprise bargaining. Existing State Awards will no longer have the coverage or relevance they have had as these new national "Modern" Awards will provide coverage for nearly all workers.

The U.S. environmental organization, Oceana, which has a strong anti-commercial fishing industry bent, has been working for a couple years to promote the film along with other non-mainstream NGOs and foundations promoting the specious--but media enticing--claims that the oceans will be empty of fish by 2048.

As you would be aware, the Federal Government has confirmed it will allow the 40% government assistance for export certification on all export commodities to lapse on 1 July 2009. As a result, all primary producing exporters, including seafood, will be paying more for export certification.
